Dearest Night Owls,

What a Sunday! I believe that today can be officially described as the anti-lazy Sunday, and I have a new move record on my Apple Watch to prove it.

Right now, I am so tired that I can hardly keep my eyes open. It is worth it, though, since I had such a nice day at the beach. Yes, the beach. Not just any beach, but my favorite beach of all of the beaches in Oregon. Cannon Beach, or more specifically Tolovana Beach State Park. Granted, the day at the beach would have been slightly better had there not been a huge cloud cover that just hovered over the entire beach. Today, in the Portland Metro Area, the weather was gorgeous and sunny without a cloud in the sky. The drive toward Cannon Beach continued to stay sunny and clear skies, right up to the point of entering into Cannon Beach. The sun suddenly disappeared and the blue skies suddenly turn gray. On top of the sunless sky, the gusts of wind made it so walking around without a jacket made the walk along the beach so much more miserable. Oh yeah, I didn't bother to bring a jacket because it never occurred to me that the beach would be as cloudy and cold as it was, due to the rest of the surrounding areas being completely sunny and warm.

You know what? I gave the gray skies the proverbial middle finger, and walked along the beach as much as possible because I love the beach. Before adventuring along the beach, Evan and I stopped into the infamous Mo's Restaurant for some lunch. For those of you who aren't familiar with Mo's Restaurant, it's well-known for its clam chowder. Evan and I have been purchasing Mo's clam chowder at our local grocery stores. However, for whatever reason, the stores no longer have the clam chowder in stock. Luckily, Mo's Restaurant sells prepackaged clam chowder. Of course, we purchased some prepackaged chowder to take home.

After lunch, Evan and I walked along the beach. For the most part, it was me running along the beach with Evan trying to catch up to me. As soon as I was able to reach the wet sand of the beach, I started running along the coastline with my arms stretched out, as though I was a bird ready to take flight, and my long blonde hair dancing against the wind. It felt really freeing, and I totally recommend doing this whenever you feel the urge to just let yourself go.

I did eventually stop because I didn't want to leave Evan behind. Our walk along Tolovana Beach State Park tends to always lead to the same destination, which is Haystack Rock.

At that time of the day, the tide was so low that all of the beautiful sea life that lives around Haystack Rock was clearly visible and dried out from the lack of the ocean which usually keeps it covered in rich sea water. It is so critical to remember to NEVER disturb the fragile tide pools and rocks that are covered in clam shells, star fish, and moss. It's a fragile ecosystem, and deserves to be left alone.

Okay, now I'm done with that soapbox. After the visit to the beach, the rest of the afternoon was spent finishing up our regular Sunday chores: weekly grocery shopping, taking out the garbage bins to the curb, filling up the gas tank for the upcoming week, and cleaning out the cat litter boxes.

To put it mildly, I am ready to pass out at this very moment. I managed to still fit in eating dinner, watching my Netflix movie while lying in bed, and then watching the newest episode of Bob's Burgers while eating dinner in the living room.

By the way, the movie that I watched was called The Covenant on blu-ray. It is a Netflix movie that has been sitting on my kitchen counter and collecting dust for over a month now. I figured, I may as well just watch it so I can finally return it. I really try not to be so cruel in my opinion on a film, but this movie was incredibly painful to watch. Yeah, it sucked that much and I was greatly disappointed. To have such great actors for a film about witchcraft in present day Massachusetts, I was expecting a lot more than what I saw. The plot fell incredibly short, and the story was rushed so it was incredibly hard to follow what you were watching. The whole movie appeared to be an exercise in adding as much fight scenes and special effects as possible, and just altogether dropping the actual story to make the movie more interesting. Yeah, it was really, really awful.
